Hard to decide what to do as a rainy & windy day is forecasted... BUT an idea popped in:
In shorts and longsleeved baselayer i head off from Oostereiland Complex past Hoofdtoren along the quai - for pedestrians covered in red bricks, road is laid out in cobblestone. Twisting and turning is the path around the Historische Haven - retreat for dozens of prevailingly white amazing yachts & scooners, leading me to Juliana Park. Between school playground and Hoornse Voetball - field is not-to-miss skate park and children park - alternatively said: ideal for work-out. Several picnique benches serve their purpose to alternate jogging for muscle power excercise.
With enough view of Ijsselmeer - one of the biggest lakes in Europe, I climb on Schellinkhouterdijk - flood protection wall with road atop, and continue straightforward to Protonweg and reach my turning point at Van der Berg Surf Store. I am really interested in trying out Stand-Up-Paddling, but the nearest rental point De Midget Schellinkhout takes additional 30 min of running. This is a known location for beach kite buggy, kite surfing - actually, all kind of wind sports.
Because of wind and low level of energy remaining i go homebound despite promising experience.
Repeating scheme as advised on runtastic blog - alternating running with set of push-up or pull-up and running again - I reach the shoreline again and go through all the excercise points one more time.
totally exhausted but well spirited i do some cool-down stretching and then back onboard
To remember :)
Always take with some energy drops/ fructose
Rather draw several small rounds than run one way until exhausted
